We are also delighted to have Tom Kompier Sensei with us along with Julie Nicholson and John Holdsworth Senseis. From Holland, Tom Kompier completes an excellent roster of instructors.
Tom Kompier Sensei 7th Dan began martial arts training as an 11 year old in his native Holland. Inspired by the original Shogun TV series, he became infatuated by the Japanese language and culture. Going on to study at University in Holland, he went on to study at Cambridge University and became Captain of the karate team training under Enodea Sensei. Gaining a scholarship to go to Japan for his PhD studies, he trained in Osaka for two years under Kagawa Masayoshi Sensei before moving to Tokyo and entering the JKS Kenshusei program. His karate, although uniquely his own, has a strong Japanese Shotokan flavour with a technical emphasis on the pelvis and body dynamics, all delivered with an open and accessible teaching style.

Training Times: 10:00 to 14:15 (Saturday) and 10:00 to 13:00 (Sunday)
Dan Grading: Saturday @ 14:30*
